Malaysia Airlines Cabin Crew Walk-in Interview Part 3

1st Nov 2008, again.. i reached MAS academy for my 3rd and final stage of interview.. It was a really tiring day~ I was waited at there since 9am to 12noon only got my turn for the 3rd stage interview.. and i was sooo sooo hungry. Luckily, my fren, pooi mun brought some oat crackers and willing to share some with me. If not, i think i might be feeling very miserable there with the feeling of starving and super cooling environment there. *thanks pooi mun~!!* ^^

3rd stage was an interactive group, six people in a group.. in my group, there were 5girls and 1 guy. We were required to enter a room that there have 2 interviewers and 1 facilitator inside. 1st, the facilitator required us to intro ourself, just a simple one will do. Then, she started to give us some topics to discuss. In our group, she was giving us few senarios. For instance, are we willing to go for plastic surgery to get our beauty done, describe the outfit that we have chosen to attend this interview, what will we advice those students who going to enter the society and so on. Besides, they also tested my manderin by speaking manderin to me (one of the interviewer is chinese).

Frankly speaking, i personally think that i wasn't well performed for this stage and my english considered as the worst one among all of them. But, surprisingly, i was the only one who successfully got to proceed to final stage. So, i guess most of them actually felt very very upset about the result. And in fact, one of the girl did approach those interviewers and asked for the reason of choosing only me to proceed to final stage. It's because they feel that i cant even speak proper english. I feel sooooo bad when i got to know they actually so calledly backstab me behind my back after smile and said congratz to me.. For me, i straight away just feel that yea.. this is what i will be facing of if i succesfully get the job offer. So, i cant care so much about it.. Just try my best for the final stage since i have the luck to get the chance from them:)

After the lunch time, I proceeded to my final stage. I've been told that there were only 50 girls out of 800+ girls got chosen to proceed to final stage. So, i was actually not really put much hope on this stage. Even if i fail at this stage, i also feel satisfy already since i managed to beat down the rest of the 750+ girls =p Anyway, it was a similar group interview as stage 1. Again.. six people in a group. This time, there were 6girls in my group. The only difference between stage 1 and final stage is our interviewers will be those high management executives of MAS. For my group, our interviewers are the HR manager and the cabin crew manager. As usual, they required us to give a brief introduction about ourselves. Then, from there, they asked us questions based on our resume, more to the working experience and education background. One of the questions they asked me is the same question that i got in stage 1, which is will i feel wasted for my degree for straight away join aviation industry. After that, they asked me that why i choose to join MAS and my answer is about the difference working environment between SIA and MAS. After that, one question that made me sweat is.. one of the interviewer said "Janet.. U look very soft spoken ya.. what if there is a passanger harrass u, will u cry?" my response was really big. I kept saying nononono~ then i explained it by saying that i have a deceiving look =p After that, that interviewer also tested me by purposely asked me whether i know how to speak japanese and tamil. swt~

After the final interview, we actually had a chance to ask those interviewers whatever we want to ask and we have been told to wait for their call for the result within 2weeks. During the 1st week, one of the girl from my group already got the call. And i din get the call yet. I was feeling so disappointed. the 2nd week has passed and i still hvnt get the call yet also. until the 3rd week, when i was given up on this, only i got their call.. I feel so so happy.. and Next coming tues (25th Nov) im going to attend the bonding briefing and going for the medical checkup. If i pass it, then i will be succesfully getting the job offer from MAS lo~~~ Yeah~!!!

Since then...... For once, I declared myself as a Cabin Crew.... And I am always glad that I was from that big family... Here I am..... My first flight (IOE - Inflight Observation Experience) to Hanoi with lovely crews...

Malaysia Airlines Cabin Crew Walk-in Interview Part 2

On 29th Oct 2008, I got a sms from MAS. Still remember clearly how I felt when I saw this message....

Hooray~!! Been waited for more than 1week, finally i got this sms, informing me to attend the 3rd stage interview of MAS cabin crew.. Feel so happy that finally i passed grooming stage.. Always worried that i cant pass that stage. However, feel so pressure now as well.. Need to wake up so early, make up, conceal and interview again =.= wondering why so many stages ya?? Sienz.. Anyway, already proceed to stage 3 le.. must gambateh and pass it thru.. GAMBATEH!!

Malaysia Airlines Cabin Crew Walk-in Interview Part 1

Still remember..... Back to 19th Oct 2008, I went for MAS interview by myself. At that time, I was a very innocent young girl who has a flying dream and a blog to mark down everything that happened in my life. But, things changed when time flies. So, I decided to closed my previous blog and reopen this current blog. Although I am no longer a crew anymore. But, sometimes I still receive some questions from girls out there who share the dream that I had. And of course I really miss flying so much..... So, just to complete my story in this "journey of life" blog... I share my experience here again.....

Today, early the morning i already woke up and prepared myself to go for the MAS cabin crew interview. Although i reached there at 9am sharp, but the number that i got is 305. My friend was reaching at there around 10mins earlier than me and she got number 281. Just 10mins different, then i got a number that is 24 numbers far behind her =.=

Anyway, kinda love the interview environment there compared to the SIA interview that i've attended last week. MAS employees are far more friendly than SIA employees. Wherever u walk to, u can see people smile to you. As for SIA interview, the employees look very unfriendly, make the whole environment became very stress. Furthermore, in MAS interview, after been called to another waiting room, the HR officer will brief us about the term and conditions and the roles of the cabin crew. And they actually clearly stated for all the interviewees that what they actually looking for and what are their main requirements. They even have a Q&A sections for us to ask questions. However, as for SIA, when v were called to get in to another waiting room to register. What v can do in that waiting room is just to watch a powerpoint slides keep repeating and repeating again and it was just some kind of SIA advertisement. So, we cant even get the chance to know what they really actually looking for.

However, there is one disadvantage of MAS, which is they work abit slow compared to SIA. Anyway, due to the whole interview environment there, i actually dont mind sitting at there and waiting. I've been waited at there since 9am to 2pm for them to call my name for the stage 1, but i also made some new nice friends over there and was enjoy chatting with them. So, it was not bad ^^

For the interview part, it separated into 4stages. The first stage is a group interview, questions that related to our own self will be asked after self intro and a topic will be given randomly then we need to give our opinion accordingly. For me, after i done my self introduction, the interviewer asked me that will i feel wasted for my degree due to i choose to straight away join the airlines, instead of find a job that related to my degree. Of course, i answered it nicely =p Then, the topic that i got - who is your idol. Honestly, i never prepare for this question. So, my answer for this question is.. my idol is my dad because i live with him since i
was born. Everybody feel shocked for my answer. HAHAHA.. And again, i explained it nicely as well.
So, there were 6 of us go in together and they 've only chosen three of us. And of course, im one of them. Hooray~!!

Thus, here i go for my second stage - Grooming stage. Again, we need to wait them to call our name in order to enter the room. Inside the room, there are alot of officers. There is one of them who in-charge of measuring height and weight, then there are two of them in-charge of checking our body condition, mainly visible scars and checking out how we walk. After done this stage, we all can go back home and wait for the call within two weeks. If we get the call, meaning that we are succeeded proceed into stage 3 and stage 4.

So.. What i can do now is just wait.. and pray.. Haha.. Anyway, feel very happy that i am actually passed two out of de four stages for the interview. Really never expect for it!

Just wish me luck!! hehe..

A "flying" memory to remember~

I always can't sleep at this wee hour....  Flipped thru the photo that i had post in facebook. Just to share a photo that I took with a man who love and admire by sooooo soooooo many people out there :p

Ta Da!!!! Let me introuduce..... PITBULL!!!!!

He's sooooo sooooo handsome and friendly!!!! Still remember that he was on my flight from New Delhi back to Kuala Lumpur. I was working at the economy class on that day. And so happened was.... the leading steward on that flight was one of my "mentor" and he was kind enough to call me to the business class just to share this "info" with me (which is PITBULL is on our flight!!!!). And we were waited for the chance that he go to washroom. So that we get to ask for a favor to take a picture with him. And that was how we GOT HIM!!!! hahaha... And yes..... I been showing off this picture with my friends after that flight.... Any oh yes..... alot of them "hate" me for this and I knew it!!!! :p Anyway, it was just one of a sweet memory from my flying times. Kind of miss flying actually..........

Hanoi - Part 3

Day 2

Woke up early morning just to get a seat at the restaurant to have a full breakfast..... And thank God we woke up early because... we realized that when it comes to around 9am, the restaurant is already full with the hotel guests due to they only have around 6-8 tables in the restaurant. And those hotel guests who can't get a seat have to wait in the lobby until the staff call them when there is empty seat available.

Apart from the good service from the hotel staff, another thing i love about this hotel is the nicely decorated breakfast they have for all the hotel guests.....  The hotel doesn't has the buffet style breakfast. Instead, they served the breakfast based on the food that the guests order from the menu list and it all served FRESH!!! When i mentioned "FRESH" means they only cook the food when they guests order it which i think that it is a really good idea for a small boutique hotel like this.

Fruits platter that served by the staff while waiting for the ordered food to be done

French toast which Mr. Dunhill Red love so much

Beef noodle soap

Eggs with toasts

Pancake

Omelette with croissant

Mixed fruit yogurt

I just can't help to stop camwhore while we were waiting for our breakfast to be done... hehe....

After breakfast, we decided to have a walk around the Old Quarter District area. And we dropped by one of the catholic church nearby the hotel - St. Joseph's Cathedral. When we got there, we were lucky enough to get inside due to there was a mass going on.

After tired of walking, we head back to hotel and decided to catch a cab in front of the hotel. From there, we went to a shopping complex nearby. Just can't recall what's the shopping complex named. It was nothing much in mall. In fact, I prefer the mall in KL more.

The dinner we had in the mall. Still can't resist Thai food in Vietnam.. :p

That's how we called off a day for our free & easy day 2 in Hanoi....... ^^

Hanoi for Darl's Birthday Celebration - Part 2

The birthday boy was cutting the cake after we back from the dinner........

p/s: Although it is a backdated post, but I still would like to say "Happy Birthday darl~" Wishing darl always be healthy, happy and of course wealthy..... :p Then, we can get to hold hands and travel around the world until we both old old. Love you, my darling~

Hanoi for Darl's birthday celebration - Part 1

Ever since the bad experience in our last visit to Saigon, Vietnam, we decided to give it a try to visit Vietnam once again. But, this time we choose to go Hanoi for my darl darl's birthday.
How we ended up to choose this place? The story starts like this...... One fine day, darl darl came back home and told me that he got his annual leave approved. But it separated into 3weeks instead of 11days of annual leave straight at one time. And i was like..... "huh?!" So, i thought maybe this time we can choose to go for a place for 1 of the slot of his approved annual leave. So, i told him that i feel like going to Australia or New Zealand or maybe Istanbul. But he just told me that the living expences at there are quite high, maybe somewhere cheaper. And he decided to go for 2holidays with me this time. I was sooooo sooooo happy~ So, i told him to choose 1 place and i choose 1 as well. He ended up choosing Phuket with his reason of wanted to go with me since he never been there with me together (both of us visit Phuket before). And i chose Hanoi with a thought of just wanted to visit Halongbay.
Then, we started on our hotels and flight tickets booking... and i ended up chose Hanoi Moment Hotel since it has quite a number of good reviews in agoda and tripadvisor.

No doubt! This is how the room looked like when we entered our room.............. SURPRISE!!!!!!!

Yes!!!! they decorated the room for my darl darl's birthday.... and they even gave him a complementary birthday cake... By the way, did i said how much is the room costs? We always book our hotels thru agoda and this hotel is only costs us around rm150/night, breakfast included. With the service that they have, i can say that its really cheap and worth our stay~ highly recommend this hotel!!!!!!!!!

Lovely birthday cake and card from the hotel staffs

A photo with the birthday boy is a must! ^^

Complimentary DAILY fruits platter from the hotel

After unpacked all of our stuffs in the room, we decided to go out for "jalan - jalan"..... Once stepped out from the hotel.... As usual, what we see the most in Vietnam is still....... MOTOR!

Below is the picture of the Hanoi City Centre in Old Quarter district area where near the Hoan Kiem Lake.

Me and darl on the street

Night view for one of the street in Old Quarter Distreet

As we walked in the streets between the Old Quarter Distreet, I realised that Vietnam has something similar to China, which is there have one whole street is only selling coffee; one whole street is only selling shoes; one whole street is only selling clothes and etc..

Is the shoes really that cheap? I have no idea.. What i saw is only a bunch of girls busy choosing shoes at there. Just this store... dunno why... O.o

Now here we are..... Hoan Kiem Lake~~~

T

Naughty darl with the lake : Take 1

Darl with the lake: Take 2

Darl with the lake : Take 3

Darl don't quite like to take photo. But everytimes because of his baby girl (ME) forced to do so and he got no choice~ So, most of the photo definitely will have all these Take 1, Take 2, Take 3 and so on...... hehe....

At the lake there, we saw alot of people jogging there. Somehow I can see how a healthy life Vietnamese has... With the chilled weather, it was indeed a very good idea to jog at the lake area. I'm not a exercise person, but at that moment, I really wished that i could have bring my exercise attire along.

Just to share.... The beauty of the Hoan Kiem Lake..

Turtle Tower on the small "island" at the middle of the lake

Night view of Hoan Kiem Lake

The lake is very huge. It took us more than an hour to finish walking around the lake. Before we can finish walking around the lake, we were actually half a mind thinking of FOOD and FOOD and FOOD......... and here we got the dinner before heading back to hotel.........

As usual, noodle soup is mine~

And fried rice is belongs to Mr. Dunhill Red (my darl darl)

A lovely turn down service from the hotel staff to wish us a good night after we back to our room....
