As usual, we booked our hotel thru agoda. After read thru all the reviews, we decided to choose galaxy cruise based on our budget.
Early morning, around 8:45am I think.... The bus picked us up from the hotel then heading straight to the Halong Bay. We were the last couple for them to pick up before started our journey.
Red River Delta in Hanoi
Housing Area in Hanoi
Paddy Field
It was a 3.5 - 4hours car ride. Half way, the driver stopped by at a souvenir shop for us to do a small shopping and go to restroom.
Finally, we were here.... at the jetty and got our tickets to get on the small boat..
The boat that brought us to the cruise
And that's our captain.... He's looked real small for a guy but cool rite? ^^
And here we are.... on the boat....
By the way, did i mentioned that we went for an overnight cruise. It was a full board package. Quite worthy with the price we paid. Return transfer from hotel to the Halong cruise, meals, sighseeing and one night accommodation in cruise are included. So, what more do we need to complain..... ^^
The view near the Jetty ( Alot of small cruises right?)
And here.... Our cruise - Galaxy Cruise
Getting on to the cruise
After that, we been assigned to our room and be told to meet at the.... I would say that it's a dining room... at 30mins later...
Corridor leads to our rom
Small room with big bed. So, no complain :p
And a small toilet with water heater. So, no complain again :p
After done unpacking our things in the room, we walked to the upper deck to enjoy the breeze.... and here we were... some pictures taken at the cruise....
After we gathered at the "dining area".... We arrived at the first destination - "Hang Sung Sot" Cave. They claimed that it's the 8th wonders of the world... (not sure how true it is :p)
To enter the cave, we need to climb up a high staircase.....
While we were climbing up, still managed to take a picture of us...
*That's the cons of travelling with only 2persons - we can always take our pics with only head-shot :p*
Before entering the cave, a shot with Mr. Dunhill Red's big head.... lol....
The breathtaking view of the cave... *sorry for the poor skilled of picture taking*
Can you spot the old lady face?
What is this? *depends on your own imagination :p*
Once we came out from the cave, we reached here........
And this was the view that we saw.... Breathtaking ya? For those who never been to Halong Bay, now you know where the postal picture taken already right? *wink wink*
After visiting the cave, we were heading to a floating village. At there, we had a chance to do kayaking which all the fees are already included in the package. But, we chose not to due to we saw how busy of the boats cruising around. Plus, we never try kayaking before. So, on a safe side.... BETTER NOT! ^.^"
So, we ended up taking pictures in the boat. And we were enjoying the view here....
Vietnamese lady with her little "store"
The tour leader gave us approximately 30mins to "wander" at this floating village.... After that, we were heading back to our cruise to rest and waited for our dinner...
Another shot of our cruise
For dinner, we actually had a really nice and delicious "candle light" dinner... that was a surprise arranged by the tour leader. But, too bad.... I left my camera in the room. So, no picture taken during dinner... After dinner, some of them chose to sing karaoke, some of them were enjoying their drinks at the bar, some of them just chose to go back to their room. While I chose to fish the squid and Mr. Dunhill Red chose to enjoy his drink and chit chatting with some of the new friends that we met onboard. We are glad to say that we are the only Asians onboard, the rest of them are from Australia, UK and so on.... Until around 12am, we called it a day and headed back to our "dreamland"....
The next day, we woke up quite early due to we needed to check out at around 9am. So that the crews can clean up the room for next guests who coming in. After a light breakfast, we just stay at the lower deck there for photo-taking and chit-chatting with our Australian friends.
Another floating village that we passed by
Before lunch, we started our cooking class to learn how to do spring roll...
The ingredients that needed for a spring roll
Mixed all the ingredients together
Put a wrapper on top of a wet towel
Put the mixed ingredients on top of the wrapper
Wrap it up
Seal it up with the egg white
Ta Da!! done the spring roll. It can either be fried or steam after that~
After the tour leader demo for us, it was Mr. Dunhill red's turn...... As you can see, Mr. Dunhill Red can be a very good cook.... Good cook is a good hubby~~ *proud* ;)
That was the spring roll that made by all the guests and it was one of the dishes for our lunch
While we were having our lunch, the cruise was slowly cruising back to the port. And here we were to say goodbye to each other.... And that's the end of our Halong Bay trip until we meet again~~~~~ ^^
